MODULE 1: PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE AND CONDUCT

MODULE 1: PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE AND CONDUCT
Uniform and Personal Presentation Standards
Hostesses must always present themselves with elegance and professionalism. The standard dress code includes a formal, discreet black dress—never revealing. Footwear must be dress shoes or heels; sneakers or casual footwear are not permitted. Makeup should be neat, polished, and subtle; exaggerated or dramatic styles should be avoided. Jewelry must be minimal—small earrings or delicate accessories—while large or flashy pieces are discouraged. Hair must be clean, well-groomed, and neatly styled, with no extreme colors or unkempt appearance. Facial piercings, visible facial tattoos, and large earrings are not allowed, as they detract from the refined and sophisticated image expected in luxury hospitality.
Attendance and Punctuality
Be on time. You should always arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift. Account for possible delays due to traffic or parking issues. Arrive fully dressed in uniform and well-groomed. If you’re going to be late, notify your supervisor immediately. Punctuality is key to maintaining a professional image.
Professionalism and Appearance
Maintain a professional attitude: As a hostess, you are in direct contact with guests, so maintaining a calm and professional demeanor is essential throughout your shift.
Dress and personal care: Dress appropriately for the type of restaurant or event, and maintain a neat and polished appearance. This reinforces your role as a representative of the restaurant or event and builds guest confidence in your ability to manage their experience.
